The Avengers Review

The Avengers(2012)

Avengers Assemble is what Michael Bay could not do with 'Transformers 2/3'. My last review mentioned comparison of Joss Whedon, writer/director of Avengers, to Christopher Nolan. Although he does not surpass, he does manage to stand up to the director of The Dark Knight. This massive coalition of superheros could have been a super disaster. With a running length of 2hrs 22 minutes, Joss Whedon manages to combine the superhero costumes, superhero emotions, superhero special effects, superhero storyline and superhero banter into something that would evoke a rush of adrenalin pump in every viewer. Each character is given justice and they shine out in terms of their group dynamics, even in terms of their acting prowesses. Mark Ruffalo shines as the incredible HULK - his charisma as a person taming one's anger management issues is commendable. Robert Downy Jr. propels the Iron Man legacy with effortless delivery of witty lines, bang on ! However, I find him to be repeating himself time again. Here’s an A for – Hulk/Iron Man/Thor/Loki/Black Widow/Hawkeye and Joss Whedon.
